Emma's Nut Bread

4 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup walnuts
4 tea s. Baking P.
1 tea s. salt
1 1/2 cup milk

Put in pan
Let raise 20 minutes
Bake 40 minutes

Quick breads are leavened without the use of yeast. In case Aunt Pit's recipe is a bit vague, here are basic directions:

Preheat oven to 350°.
Combine dry ingredients.
Combine wet ingredients.
Stir into dry ingredients.
Grease the bottom of a loaf pan and pour in the batter.
Bake about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
